1. Preparation for the Pass.

To achieve good result, every spiritual work needs preparation. In the case of the pass, it should have preparation as much of the pass giver as of the patient. Of the part of the first, however, that preparation should be constant, in view of the emergencies that happen in the spiritist center and out of it.

The ideal would be that every application of pass was preceded of doctrinal explanation about the fluids, the faith, the prayer, etc. With the study and the evangelical reflections the environment becomes calm down and the fluids act in a more appropriate way.

Through those preparatory activities, who will receive the pass learns how to look for his improvement not only through the pass, but for the elimination of his moral imperfections, that is last causes of his evils. That is the therapeutics of depth proposed by the Spiritism.

2. Physical, moral and spiritual requirements.

Emmanuel reminds us, in the book "Mediums’ Harvest", that "to be medium is to be an assistant of the spiritual world. And to be an assistant in certain work is to be somebody that aids spontaneously".

To be an assistant in fact, the medium must be observant in his action field, must be prepared for well to exercise his task, because the satisfactory result for those, which intends to help, will depend on his physical and spiritual hygiene.

2.1. Physical requirements.

It is fundamental to the pass giver the care with his physical health, because nobody gets to give what does not possess. A body without health would have weak irradiation, more noxious than useful, for himself and for the patient.

The alimentation is a very important topic for the pass giver. During the hours that antecede to the service, the food should be light; being avoided the excesses, which provoke imbalance in the apparel gastrointestinal and that harm the radiant faculties.

The pass giver must only eat foods that are easily digested. The ingestion of alcoholic drinks and the use of drugs are unacceptable. A person, who smokes, eats many meat, drinks many coffee or likes spicy food, is recommended reduce his consumption on the day of pass, when is not possible absolute abstention.

In general, to avoid everything that implicates wear and tear or loss of energy: sexual excesses, too many works, inappropriate feeding.

2.2. Moral requirements.

Allan Kardec said, in the book "Mediums’ Book", that the qualities that attract good spirits are kindness, goodwill, single mindedness, love of the neighbor, and detachment from earthly things. But apart from these qualities, the defects that repel them are pride, vanity, selfishness, envy, jealousy, hatred, greed, sensuality, and all the passions by which man attaches himself to matter.

Allan Kardec yet said: Spiritual fluid will be so much more purified and wholesome the more the Spirit that supplies is pure and loosened of the matter. Therefore, the human fluid presents several properties, in agreement with the individual’s physical and moral qualities.

The moral of those that participate of group will define the success of the tasks.

2.3. Spiritual requirements.

The medium must cultivate good thought and vibrations of love, because is through the mind that the benefits that will attend the neighbor and of himself are filtered.

The mediums will develop inner conditions of faith and of trust that are acquired with the time, with the work, and with the persistence.

Concluding, the pass giver, during the pass, must be in harmony with God, that the fount of the healing energies, and in harmony with the patient. So, the pass giver becomes the link by which the spirituality will transmit the fluids, which will assist in the recuperation of the balance of the patient.

3. Importance of the prayer in the attune with Uppermost.

Prayer is the link that connects the Spiritual Benefactors to the pass giver, and through the mind, canalizing the magnetic resources from the Superior Spheres.

Andre Luiz, in the book "In the Domain of Mediumship", informs us how two mediums, Clara and Henry had prepared themselves to the task of the passes. They were now in prayer, and were being surrounded by halo of light. It could be said that they were almost separated from their dense body, since spiritually they appeared to be freer and in direct contact with the benefactors present.

In the same passage, said the instructor Aulus: "prayer produces a prodigious shower of forces, due to vigorous mental energy that it draws. Through prayer, Clara and Henry expel from own interior world the somber bad habits of the common activity they bring from their daily circle of struggle, and they absorb from our plane the renewing substances with which they replenish themselves in order to be able to succeed in working efficiently in favor of our fellow man".
