Actuality of Spiritist Home Chico Xavier

As we have informed the House grew. The auditorium for 120 people, room of passes, room of mediumistic meetings, bookstore and library, rooms of evangelism for children, room of fraternal services and rooms for courses, Dr. Bezerra de Menezes Clinic, storeroom and other departments have became exhausted. At the auditorium, the people compressed themselves, on windows, at ramps, at external parts and even in the cabin of passes to watch the doctrinal meetings on Thursdays and on Sundays.

We have built an auditorium for 500 people, included the mezzanine, we have also built the Divaldo Franco Square, as well as two rooms for mediumistic meetings, and mediumistic meetings of disobsessions, and room of passes for 20 pass givers, and 5 rooms for fraternal assistance, and room of selection to fraternal assistance, and 4 rooms for courses and evangelism for children, and comfortable bathrooms, and a pergola with sight for the sea to serve study and informal conversations.

We have inaugurated the new installations, in other words, the enlargement of the Spiritist Home Chico Xavier, on June 30, 1995, with a beautiful party where Divaldo Franco, as invited exhibitor, in brilliant lecture, motivated us to continue the love work.

It was really beautiful the inauguration party and several guests came from outside from the State, for us to luster our solemnity.

More space, and more work, and more visitors, and more requests of help, and more charity.

In short, besides the photos and of the videotapes that we kept with many affection, our children complete 15 years, the House reaches all of the possible works, it promotes seminars, encounters and it increases its study capacity, founding the Research Center Caetano Coimbra, Study of the works of Venerable Joanna de Angeles and as plans already on the agenda so that our installations to the seaside are transformed at a Spiritist School, and in the purchase of a terrain more distant of the sea, our companion on these 15 years, where we can build a new unit, with more space and more disposition for the work.

We could continue to dream and to speak, knowing that our dreams will be concretized and that the report below, of the year of 1999, gives a wider vision of our present time.

Some that still didn't look at the other side of the coin ask me:

Cohim, the change of the parties, were trips, abundance and easy sensations worthwhile?

I always answer, which the sensation of the beautiful and of the happiness is firstly felt by the mountaineer when he arrives in the top of the hill. What he feels, it will never materialize, for the others have notion of his real and perennial happiness.

Our happiness, only I know and any musician, any painter, any poet or esthete would be capable to transmit for the others what I feel. Only I feel and I feel to have wasted so much time, in finding the top of the hill.

Jesus is always in our lives.

Report of Activities relative to the year of 1999.

  1. Presentation

The Executive Management of the Spiritist Home Chico Xavier, with head office on 7967 Bernardo Vieira de Melo Avenue, Candeias, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, State of Pernambuco, affiliate to the Mansão do Caminho (Mansion of the Pathway), Salvador, State of Bahia, presents the report of their activities regarding the year of 1999, of conformity with the effective norms.

  1. Necessary Modifications

It has also deliberate that the Department of Childhood and Youth Amélia Rodrigues has been denominated, in agreement with the Article 33 of the statute, IRMÃO PEDRO, staying the Youth’s name, "Mocidade Tio Chico". It has been also deliberated the ratification of the time of the mandate that is of 06 (six) years. And ratification of the mandate of Management that is of 04 (four) years, according to article 35 of the statute, and it has been deliberated, the ratification of the minute of January 31, 1996, that it will have its mandate until the year of 2002. The library has been denominated "Joanna de Angeles Library" and the bookstore that has had the name of Maria João de Deus, has been denominated Irmã Amélia Bookstore.

  1. Activities of fraternal assistance

On this opportunity we are presenting the outcomes of the activities of fraternal assistance developed by several departments that below we inform:

  1. On Children’s Day (October 12th: a dedicated day to the children) we have rendered assistance to a number of 630 lacking children, with donation of presents, snacks etc;
  2. At Christmas we have given away toys, as well as we have served snacks, popcorns, chocolates, ice creams and cakes to approximately 800 children, and we have distributed to approximately 2700 pieces of clothes, shoes, cradles, trousseaus etc.;
  3. We have distributed soup 134 times, assisting 1300 people approximately;
  4. We have given away about 3,800 breads.
  1. Medical aid

600 consultations have been rendered to adults and 500 consultations have been rendered to children, with donation of the necessary medicines, in the pediatric, general, gynecological, and cardiologic clinics.

  1. Odontological aid

For financial subjects we continued with this clinic closed.

  1. Evangelization
  1. Classes of Evangelization were supplied 240 children, frequently the every Saturday;
  2. We accomplished 146 doctrinal Meetings, taking the word of Christ to 7600 people;
  3. We accomplished 175 evangelization meetings and assistance to the lacking families, reaching the amount of more or less 920 people;
  4. The pass was applied in more or less 8600 people;
  5. The Department of Childhood and Youth "Irmão Pedro" accomplished visits to the Shelters of old and it distributed provisions to the lacking families, with the help "Mocidade Tio Chico".
  1. Mediumistic meetings

Without interruptions, except for the Carnival and of the Week of Christmas, and it has been accomplished two weekly meetings about Mediumistic Study with the assistance to hundreds of disincarnated spirits, whereof problems and doubts were resolved with the Spirits friends’ indispensable help.

  1. Mediumistic meetings of disobsessions

All Tuesdays, except for the Carnival and Christmas Week, the service has made to hundreds of people, bearers of several illnesses that the conventional medicine, psychiatrists, psychologists and analysts haven't detected, for they have been spiritual diseases, being their bearers have directed to this Home by these professionals.

A work of the largest importance, that brief, we believed, the society will recognize in its totality, as therapeutics of the several evils.

All Tuesdays too, we applied passes of infantile treatment, assisting the child’s physical and spiritual disturbances. 30 children were assisted with excellent results.

  1. Caravan Mrs. Amelia Rodrigues

This activity continues suspended even superior decision.

  1. Assistance to the old people

The UIR de Jesus Almeida Group, previous denominated Juruacy Group, of assistance to the old people assists currently to 20 old people with the supply of construction materials, clothes, provisions, snacks, medicines, medical aid, and the Christ’s teachings.

  1. Irmã MEIMEI Group

Twenty-two pregnant women have participated in the course every 3 months, that besides the medical aid that each case demanded, they have participated in hygiene, health, and postpartum cares courses. It was raffled, beds, mattresses, babies' pushcarts, and cradles, and it was distributed provisions.

The work of evangelization was accomplished with the wanted success and all the pregnant women received the trousseaus, composed of:

  1. Medical Prescription

All of the services are free, without personal promotions, without names, without addresses, and other interests, to not to be the practice of the charity and Our Lord. Jesus’ teachings.

  1. Home

We informed that in spite of we are qualified fully to receive until the 200 children's limit from 0 to 1 year of age, we limited the reception, intending that here the thirty four stay, until they reach the fullness of their ages. For decision of the Management and of Council, as well as friends’ orientation, due to some small incidents, the decision was made of not allowing the children’s presence during the public meetings of Sunday and Thursday, being Saturday reserved for the activities of evangelism for children.

  1. Courses

Course of Passes is gave to about 18 people, study of the Spiritis’ Book is gave to about 30 people, preparatory course for evangelists is gave to about 25 people, course of Fraternal Assistance is gave to 15 people. All courses are accomplished at the Mrs. Amélia Rodrigues Auditorium, and at the rooms of adjacent classes. It was initiated the Course of Systematized Study about the Spiritist Doctrine, twice a week with about 20 people. It had beginning in February the Course of Orientation and Study of the Mediumship for 21 people at the Research Center Caetano Coimbra.

We also began on March 3, public meeting for the Study of the Spirits’ Book.

Every first Saturday of every month, it has given begin to the Study of the Works of Venerable Joanna de Angeles, coordinated by Lourenço Barros, having already enrolled 25 interested and the beginning of this course was going to program on May 6, 2000.

On April, 10 and 13, we began, under Vera Lúcia Cohim coordination, the Group of Study of the Spiritism to study of Gospel, being on Mondays and Thursdays the days programmed for the event 2000.

  1. Social Work

The Irmã Luiza School continues its activities teaching the lacking mothers to embroider and to sew, as well as the crochet.

  1. Education

The children continue at public schools being driven to the school in public transport, the Spiritist Home is the responsible by the purchase of the ticket of transport.

  1. Spiritist Center Irmã Maria

With the accomplishment of doctrinal meetings and mediumistic meetings of disobsessions, and of parties of the children’s Day and of Christmas, the Spiritist Home stays aiding the works of that Spiritist Center located at Fojos Farm, Garanhuns, State of Pernambuco. The school aided by the Spiritist Center Irmã Maria was temporarily disabled, due to economic situation.

  1. Colonist of the Hope

The group Colonist of the Hope that of two in two months got out of the Spiritist Center Irmã Maria in direction to the communities, to the most poor sites for distribution of victuals, clothes, cradles, beds, furniture of kitchen, medicines, blankets, medical aid, magnetic passes and distribution of The Gospel According to Spiritism. This is a work of affecting and indescribable expression. They are thousands of families in the lowest degree of the human poverty, abandoned for the traditional religions and for the public agencies, for they would be distant of the urban centers. Service to 8000 aided.

  1. Research Center Caetano Coimbra

Research Center Caetano Coimbra continues rendering service to their visitors, mainly in the researches and in the existent doubts, due to the volume of book of its collection.

  1. Awakening Group

With the objective of giving an including service to the lacking families, besides the pediatric service, assistance in the own huts, psychological service, vocational service and social work, seam course, embroidery course, crochet course, as well as distribution of provisions. Assisting 17 families now, with 65 people. The gain of this work has done itself present on professionalism of 15 mothers.

  1. Fraternal Assistance

Seeking to adapt the service to the that seek our Spiritist Home, with problems of all of the orders, mainly in the area of the spiritual influence, diseases of the Spirit, we modified the name of Consultations, for Fraternal Assistance, that grows itself at individual rooms, with 12 helper, that through of advice and orientations, direct the assisted to the treatment in the Spiritual area. When detected that the problem is in the physical area, they seek advice, that the same ones seek the doctors or professionals in the area of the psyche. The consultations are done after the service, when necessary, for the blessed Spirits that guide through the illuminated mediumship of the harvester of the good. Before the services, the assisted people are invited to stay in a room, where orientations and enlightenments on about the Spiritist Doctrine are supplied, seeking to awake them for the psychic and spiritual treatment.

Assisting about 655 siblings with problems in the areas that now afflict the humanity. They are pathologies of all the colors. Many consider the disease of the century.

  1. Seminars

On October 5 and 6, we accomplished a seminar about Doctrinal Purity presented by our Counselor and Medium Divaldo Pereira Franco and Mrs. Suely Caldas Schubert. 300 people watched this seminar.

On May 1, we accomplished a seminar about Quality of the Mediumistic Meetings, during Saturday and Sunday morning presented by and Mrs. Suely Caldas Schubert. 400 people watched this seminar.

On July 24 and 25, we accomplished a seminar about Existential Conflicts and Self Fulfillment. 200 people watched this seminar.

On October 15, 16 and 17, we accomplished a seminar about Quality and Responsibility of the Passes. 500 people watched this seminar.

We were closing the year with all scheduled seminars.
